In a statement released early morning Saturday, government spokesman Yiorgos Petalotis characterised the Troika inspectors’ statements during Friday's press conference “unacceptable” and added that their involvement in the country's internal affairs was uncalled for.
“We are in need but we also have boundaries. The boundaries of our dignity are not negotiable. [The governent] accepts mandates solely from the Greek people,” he stressed.
In a reference to the inspectors’ recommendation of state assets privatization, Petalotis underlined that the Greek government possesses the sole authority to make such decisions.
